An encyclopedic guide for using the standalone ATS Resume Checker, uploading PDF or DOCX files, pasting text, reading match score gauges, and applying line rewrites.
The standalone ATS Resume Checker lets you score any resume file or raw text against a job description instantly without needing to sign in first.
It takes 3 to 5 seconds from click to score: upload a resume file, paste the job posting, and the checker returns a full breakdown - no signup required for your first scan.
Step 1: Open the Tool: Click ATS Resume Checker in the sidebar or on the home page.
Step 2: Upload Your Resume: Drag and drop your PDF or Word document into the upload dropzone, or click to pick a file. If you prefer, paste plain resume text into the text tab.
Step 3: Paste the Job Description: Paste the complete job description into the Job Description box.
Step 4: Click "Check Resume Match": Select the primary button to analyze keywords, format compatibility, and section coverage.
Step 5: Review Results & Line Fixes: Inspect your Overall Match Score, category sub-scores (Keywords, Experience, Skills, Format), and line-by-line rewrite suggestions.
Keyword Match Score: Measures presence and density of hard skills, software names, and domain terminology found in the job description.
Experience Relevance: Evaluates work history titles, achievements, and bullet point metrics against target role seniority.
Skills Alignment: Compares listed core skills against required vs. nice-to-have job posting requirements.
ATS Format Compatibility: Verifies single-column layout, standard section headings, readable typography, and clean bullet formatting.
